Athenian Democracy was a political government of the people, by the people, for the people. Plato thought this was impossible, because the people do not have wisdom of what is good for themselves. Therefore, it cannot be ‘by the people, for the people’. Plato defined a political government for the Good for people. I call this Platonic Democracy.
Human Intelligence is purely Amoral (without values/preferences/desires motivating action). Artificial Intelligence is programmed to be Moral, Agential (driven to action by programmed human values). Therefore, since “Man giveth, and [I claim], Man can take away”, Alignment between Human and Artificial Intelligence can be achieved by rendering Artificial Intelligence amoral, too, just like Human Intelligence.
As medicine enables us to extend our lifespan, the question arises and becomes urgent: How should we organise our Wellbeing if we can determine our end?
